With the prevalence of COVID-19 and the subsequent lockdown, working from home (WFH) has become part of the “new normal”. Even with restrictions eased, a lot of companies have recognised the value of the WFH trend - they can save on overheads such as renting office space, furniture, equipment, etc.

In some instances, companies provide some of these savings to their staff as an allowance to set up their home offices to be comfortable and conducive to productivity. Those who already have the ideal setup often use the allowance to work in coffee shops when they want a change in scenery.
